New Delhi: Henry Cejudo suffered from double vision and blurriness and acquired some serious eye problems after Song Yadong’s eye poke in the fight between the two at the UFC Seattle last week. Chinese star Yadong defeated Cejudo in the contentious bout but a massive controversy erupted due to his eye poke on the American veteran.
The incident happened in the 3rd round of the fight when Yadong unintentionally poked his finger into Cejudo’s eye leading to their bout being stopped midway. Cejudo was seen complaining to the referee that he had problems with his vision and was not able to see properly. This led to the doctor’s intervention before the fight was stopped.
Hours after the fight, Cejudo took to social media to reveal the extent of damage caused by the eye poke from Yadong and said he was still seeing double and his vision was blurred. He also uploaded a story on Instagram where he revealed the eye poke resulted in diplopia, soft tissue injuries and corneal abrasion.
“Today is February 23rd. I guess hours after my fight and we just wanted to make sure that we’re showing you guys some of the damage that my eye has gone through. I’m still seeing double. I’m still seeing blurriness. So it hopefully goes away, but…f- I don’t know what to say,” the 38-year-old said in the video.
