New Delhi: Virat Kohli looked elated as he was spotted grooving in the dressing room after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 50 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday. The victory was a special one for RCB, as they managed to end a 17-year wait for their second win against CSK at their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru last defeated CSK at Chepauk in the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008 and lost their last eight matches against the hosts at the venue. However, a brilliant all round performance from the Rajat Patidar-led side helped them thrash the Chennai Super Kings comprehensively in their backyard on Friday.

It was a happy dressing room as RCB players looked in a jolly mood after the special victory. Kohli was spotted grooving and flaunting his dance moves with his teammates in the dressing room to celebrate the win. RCB shared a video of Kohli’s dance moves on their social media handles.

Though Kohli failed to make an impact with the bat, RCB produced a splendid batting performance overall to post a strong total of 196 runs, batting first on a tricky pitch at the Chepauk. Kohli could only manage 31 off 30 balls as he failed to up the ante despite trying hard and was eventually dismissed by left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad.

RCB pacers shine at Chepauk

Contrary to the popular belief that spinners would dominate the proceedings at Chepauk, RCB pacers bowled exceptionally well in tandem to set up a massive victory for their team. While Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar got RCB off to a strong start with the new ball left-arm pacer Yash Dayal picked wickets in the middle overs to take the game away from the hosts.

Hazlewood struck twice in the same over in the Powerplay to remove CSK opener Rahul Tripathi (5) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (0) cheaply before Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of Deepak Hooda on 4. Yash Dayal also bagged the important wickets of Rachin Ravindra and Shivam Dube to break the back of CSK’s batting line-up and seal a thumping win for RCB.
