New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant had another disastrous outing on Friday during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Mumbai Indians. Pant suffered another cheap dismissal where he was dismissed for just 2 runs off 6 balls, marking his third single-digit score in four matches till now.
Pant got to perfect platform to settle his innings and score a big total but he failed to utilise the opportunity, suffering yet another disastrous dismissal. LSG were cruising at 91 for 2 when Pant came to the crease but could just stay for 6 balls before going back to the pavilion. Put into bat first, Super Giants started off well with openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram adding 76 runs for the first wicket but LSG failed to capitalise on the position.
Pant’s cheap dismissal
In the 11th over of the innings bowled by MI skipper Hardik Pandya, Pant, attempted to navigate the ball on the leg side could not connect it properly and ended up with an leading edge which went to the mid off region where substitute fielder Corbin Bosch took a superb catch. In the last four innings, Pant has registered scores of 0 (6), 15 (15), 2 (5) and 2 (6).

Meanwhile, Marsh’s 60 runs and Markram’s 53 runs powered Lucknow to a score of 203/8 in the stipulated 20 overs. A later fiery contribution by Ayush Badoni, who scored 30 runs in 19 balls and a power-packed knock of 27 by David Miller helped Lucknow cross the 200-run mark. For Mumbai, skipper Hardik was fantastic claiming a fifer while Trent Boult and Ashwani Kumar also contributed with a wicket each. Vignesh Puthur also took a wicket.
