New Delhi: Complaints continued to pile up on the desk the All India Football Federation’s disciplinary committee over allegations of I-League clubs fielding ‘ineligible’ players.

Close on the heels of Namdhari and Inter Kashi accusing each other of bending rules to play ‘ineligible’ players, Sporting Club Bengaluru has lodged a similar complaint against Namdhari FC while Rajasthan United sought actions against Real Kashmir too.

SC Bengaluru filed a complaint alleging that Namdhari FC fielding an ineligible player (Cledson Carvalho Da Silva) during their match on March 30, 2025 while Rajasthan pleaded that Real Kashmir erred when Hyder Yousuf took to the field against them on November 24, 2024.

These complaints added more spice to a tantalising I-League title race where four teams are in fray to win the championship. The last round of matches will be played over two days of Saturday and Sunday with all participating 12 teams in action.

But before the tournament-ending matches, SC Bengaluru alleged that in match no. 122, which they lost 1-2 in Ludhiana, hosts Namdhari FC fielded Cledson, popularly known as De, to breach the suspension regulations of the tournament.

SC Bengaluru said that DE should have been suspended from the match on account of accumulation of cards but was still allowed to play.

“By fielding an ineligible player, the Respondent (Namdhari) failed in its duty to comply with the competition rules,” SCB said.

Rajasthan have pointed out that during their away match in Srinagar on Nove 24 at TRC Football Turf, between Real Kashmir included ‘ineligible player’ Hyder Yousuf.

“Upon verification, we have substantial grounds to believe that this player was ineligible to participate as he had received a red card in his last match of the previous season of I-League, i.e., Real Kashmir FC vs. Namdhari Football Club held on 13.04.2024. Thus, the Ineligible Player should not have formed a part of the playing squad in the current season,” RUFC said.

The AIFF’s disciplinary committee is yet to fix a date to hear these complaints. Earlier, the disciplinary committee’s decision to award three points and three goals to Inter Kashi against Namdhari for fielding an ineligible player in their match on January 13 was temporarily put on hold by AIFF’s appeals committee.

The matter will be heard again by the appeals committee on April 28, by when all rounds of matches would get over.
