New Delhi: The combined market valuation of five of the top-10 valued firms, including Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finance gained Rs 84,559.01 crore last week. FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL) emerged as the biggest winner. Infosys, State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and ICICI Bank registered erosion from their valuation.
Last week, the BSE Sensex declined 207.43 points. The NSE Nifty went down 75.9 points. Indian stock markets were open for four days last week as Thursday was a holiday for Shri Mahavir Jayanti.
Hindustan Unilever’s market valuation appreciated Rs 28,700.26 crore to Rs 5,56,054.27 crore. Reliance Industries recorded its valuation going up by Rs 19,757.27 crore, taking its market capitalisation (mcap) to Rs 16,50,002.23 crore.
FMCG major ITC’s market cap jumped Rs 15,329.79 crore to Rs 5,27,845.57 crore while Bajaj Finance’s valuation rallied Rs 12,760.23 crore to Rs 5,53,348.28 crore. Telecom major Bharti Airtel’s market capitalisation gained Rs 8,011.46 crore to Rs 10,02,030.97 crore.
TCS, country’s largest IT sector company, recorded its mcap going down to Rs 24,295.46 crore to Rs 11,69,474.43 crore. TCS declared its Q4 Results of 2024-25 last week. Meanwhile, Infosys’s wealth erosion eroded by Rs 17,319.11 crore to Rs 5,85,859.34 crore.
The market valuation of country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), dropped Rs 12,271.36 crore to Rs 6,72,960.97 crore, while country’s second largest private sector lender, ICICI Bank, witnessed its valuation going down by Rs 8,913.09 crore to Rs 9,34,351.86 crore.
The valuation of HDFC Bank declined by Rs 7,958.31 crore to Rs 13,82,450.37 crore.
Reliance Industries remained the most valued firm in India as per the market cap. HDFC Bank secured the second spot, TCS third, Bharti Airtel fourth, followed by ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finance and ITC.
