New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad lethal opener Travis Head scripted a big record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium on Thursday. Head became the second-fastest batter to reach 1000 runs in the cash-rich league. Head, who is considered to be one of the most dangerous players in the league, achieved the milestone on his 575th ball in the tournament.

After Sunrisers were put into bat first by the hosts, Head along with the lethal Abhishek Sharma began the team’s innings on a fine note stitching a 59-run stand for the opening wicket. After Abhishek went back to the pavilions after scoring a quick 50 runs, Head’s innings too derailed as he was victimised by Mumbai bowler Will Jacks. Head departed after scoring 28 runs off 29 deliveries which included three boundaries but while he was on the crease, she scripted this massive record.

Who’s the fastest to 1000 IPL runs?

While Travis Head became the second-quickest batter to reach the mark, surpassing teammate Heinrich Klaasen who has achieved the mark in 594 balls, Andre Russell happens to be the fastest batter in history of IPL to reach 1000 runs in fewer balls. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player has achieved the record in 545 balls.
