New Delhi: Australian batter Travis Head smashed his second consecutive century against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 on Sunday, December 15. Head notched up another brilliant ton during the hosts’ first innings of the ongoing 3rd Test between the two sides at the Gabba in Brisbane. Head completed his ton in just 115 deliveries with a couple off Jasprit Bumrah in the 69th over.
It was yet another fantastic knock from Head, who has looked in splendid touch throughout the series and has been a nemesis for the Indian bowlers. The prolific southpaw once again looked in fine form as he manoeuvred the Indian pacers well to settle down before shifting gears seamlessly to complete his second consecutive ton in the series.
Head came out to bat at number 5 with Australia in a spot of bother at 75/3 after Nitish Reddy got rid of Marnus Labuschagne on 12. He joined hands with a well-settled Steve Smith to steady the ship for the Aussies as the duo shared a brilliant unbeaten stand of 159 runs for the 4th wicket to help the hosts post 234/3 at Tea on Day 2.
