New Delhi: The stock market will open on May 12, 2025, i.e., Monday after two days of holidays. The banks are closed in several parts of the country on the occasion of Buddha Purnima today. All eyes will be on BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty and other indices as the market is opening after India and Pakistan agreed over a ceasefire after days of military conflict.

After four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes, India and Pakistan on May 10 (Saturday) agreed to end all the military attacks with immediate effect. “This week will be pivotal, marked by several key domestic triggers. Geopolitical developments, particularly the ongoing tensions with Pakistan, will continue to remain in focus. On the macroeconomic front, investors will closely monitor the release of key data points including the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Wholesale Price Index (WPI), and trade figures for exports and imports,” Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, said.

Notably, banks across the country were closed on May 10 and 11, 2025 (Second Saturday and Sunday). All scheduled and non-scheduled banks observe public holiday on second and fourth Saturdays, as per RBI guidelines.
