New Delhi: Australia will take on South Africa in the final of the World Test Championship at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on June 11. The Aussies are the defending champions of the tournament and have players who have won multiple ICC tournaments, including the 2015 and 2023 ODI World Cups.

The experience of playing in the final of a big tournament gives Australia an edge heading into the mega clash, but veteran spinner Nathan Lyon said that South Africa have got some world-class players and it will be a good challenge to face them in the final.

The conditions in England offer good assistance to the fast bowlers, and both teams have some quality pacers in their squad who can trouble the batters on match day. Lyon also discussed the conditions and said that it’s going to be a good challenge for the batters.

“It’s going to be different challenge and with foreign conditions and the Dukes ball. It’s going to be two best bowling attacks going at each other which is another exciting thing so it’s going to be a good challenge for all batters” Lyon was quoted as saying by the ICC.

Lyon also added that he has followed the progress of the Proteas batters and watched a fair amount of  South African cricket. He also said that they’ve got some class players and there’s no point in hiding behind that fact either. The spinner also talked about his fitness and said that he has been doing well after recovering from a hip injury.
