Neerabh Kumar Prasad has been appointed the new Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh after KS Jawahar Reddy went on leave on Thursday on personal grounds, tv9 telugu reported.
Neerabh Prasad belongs to IAS batch of 1987 and had earlier served as Chief Commissioner of Land Administration in AP and HMDA commissioner in Hyderabad. A government order (GO) was issued in this regard by Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar.
KS Jawahar Reddy goes on leave:
Ex-Chief Secretary, KS Jawahar Reddy, has been transferred as per the order. He has been in the midst of many controversies, including some during election time while Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in place.
Chandrababu Naidu, the incoming chief minister is said to be unhappy with Reddy and TDP had registered a complaint with the election commission against Reddy and sought his transfer for allegedly taking the side of YSRCP.
When Jawahar Reddy called Naidu on Wednesday, the TDP leader reportedly gave indications to Reddy that it would be better for him to go on leave so the new government can appoint a chief secretary of its choice. Reddy is due to retire by the end of June.

Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12. TDP won 135 seats in the AP Legislative Assembly while YSRCP was restricted to a mere 11 seats.
