New Delhi: SBI claim settlement for the nominees of a deceased person who held an account with the bank can be made online. It does not matter whether the SBI’s deceased customer had a will or not. The need for a branch visit has been minimised. So, if any deceased person had a fixed deposit in SBI, you can follow the steps mentioned below to make the claim for settlement.
How to make a claim for deposit accounts?
You can claim the settlement for fixed deposit accounts of the deceased by following these steps
Visit the official website: https://crcf.sbi.co.in/ccf/Home/ClaimRequest.
Enter your mobile number.
Now fill the application form
Select if the deceased person had a Will/ Succession certificate or not
Submit a copy of the same
Submit the death certificate and its copy.
Provide information of legal heirs
In the last column, write ‘Yes’ If legal heirs have officially stamped and completed a Letter of Disclaimer
Select ‘no’, if not applicable.
Include the names of minor legal heirs as well as the natural or legal guardian to complete the claim process.

Submit signed declaration
A ceclaration is to be signed by an independent person who must be known to the family of the deceased but unconnected with the claim. A declaration signed by any government official is also acceptable. A “Letter of Disclaimer” will have to be signed by all the people who are making the claim.
Documents required for SBI claim settlement
The documents mentioned below are required when you are making a claim for an amount of up to Rs 5 lakh. It includes both principal and interest.
Photocopy of death certificate
Photographs and KYC documents of the person making the claim or legal heir
Account details of the person making the claim
Signed and filled revised claim form
Original copies of the above-mentioned documents are to be produced before the bank for verification.
