In a move that will affect the budgets of Indian households, the government has announced the hike of CNG price in Delhi, Noida and other cities in various states that has been put into effect as of today from 6am onwards.
CNG price has been hiked by a rupee per kilogram. After this, the CNG price in Delhi will will be Rs 75.09 per kg. Earlier, it was Rs 74.09. The price hike will also be applicable in satellite cities like Noida, and Ghaziabad that fall into the NCR region. CNG price in these towns has increased from Rs 78.70 per kg to Rs 79.70 per kg as of today.
While that is the case with the capital city and its surrounding areas, other states too are going to be affected and this includes Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
As far as other cities are concerned, then know that if you are a resident of Rewari in Haryana, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, or for that matter Pali, Ajmer and Rajsamund in Rajasthan, you will have to pay rupee 1 extra.
In Rewari that changes CNG price from Rs 78.70 per kg to Rs 79.70 per kg.
For cities like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli, CNG price has been raised from Rs 79.08 to Rs 80.08 per kg.
Residents of Pali, Ajmer and Rajsamand will see CNG price rise to Rs 82.94 per kg from the earlier Rs 81.94 per kg.
However, those residing in certain other areas around Delhi have been spared a price hike. CNG price in Gurugram, Karnal and Kaithal have not been revised and that should bring relief to families living there from inflationary pressure on their budgets.

CNG, or compressed natural gas, prices are determined by the international markets and are set by the government depending on whether the rates are rising or falling there. India imports much of the CNG and therefore, has to pay the prices that are set globally.
