New Delhi: It was a historic and a heartwarming moment for cricketer Riyan Parag who received his maiden Team India debut cap from his father. Ahead of the start of first T20I game between India and Zimbabwe at the Harare sports club, Parag, along with Abhishek Sharma and Dhruv Jurel made their T20I debut for India.
While the debut for Sharma and Jurel was normal, Parag had a special debut in presence of his parents who were present in the ground, with his father presenting him the cap followed by a hug. Parag becomes the first player from Assam to represent the country at international level. All the three cricketers were rewarded with call-ups after their impressive performance in the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, young Indian bowlers wrecked havoc on the Zimbabwe batters as they restricted them to 115 for 9 in the stipulated 20 overs, after opting to bowl first. India were in a strong position to restrict the hosts to less than 100-run total but a late rescue of 29 runs by Clive Madande helped the team cross reach 115.
Ravi Bishnoi registered career-best figures of 4/13 while Washington Sundar picked up two wickets. Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar also chipped in with a wicket each.
