Telangana: YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu arrested in Bangalore

Telugu YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanth, son of a senior AP IAS officer was arrested in Bangalore by Telangana Cyber Security wing on Wednesday for making inappropriate comments against a child.

It is in connection with online conversations between a group on YouTube live, maligning a father-daughter relationship. He and his friends made offensive comments on a father-daughter video in the name of humour.

The video of the YouTube live went viral on social media platforms, with many users condemning his comments. Actor Sai Dharam Tej flagged the video and urged authorities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to take action against such comments.

Acting on the complaints, Telangana Cyber Crime Bureau registered an FIR against the YouTuber.

Apology:

After the video went viral and his comments were subjected to scrutiny, he issued an apology on his X account and edited the offensive portions of the video. “Unconditionally and unambiguously apologetic about the lapse in judgment. This time, unfortunately, I have crossed a line between dark and distasteful.”

He was recently seen in ‘Harom Hara’ movie, directed by Sudheer Babu, streaming on Aha. Sudheer Babu issued an apology for casting him in the movie.
