Gold Price today in India: Check rates in Mumbai, Delhi and other cities

New Delhi: Gold price today in India of 24 carat (k) purity fell to Rs 73,190 per 10 gram on Thursday, July 11, 2024, while the 22k gold price in India was at Rs 67,090 per 10 gm. Meanwhile, 18k gold prices stood at Rs 54,890 per 10 gm. The Silver prices came under pressure on Thursday with the rates in India falling by Rs 100 per unit to Rs 94,400 per kg, according to data from Goodreturns.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for August delivery was up 0.22 per cent to Rs 72,835 per 10 grams. Silver contracts for September delivery was up 0.73 per cent to Rs 93,505 per kg.

US Central Bank Federal Reserve, chair, Jerome Powel’s recent statements could be the gold price fall reason. In the wake of US’s inflation’s downward trajectory, Powell, in his testimony, said that the US central bank would need more data to gain confidence in cutting rates. He talked about when would the US Central Bank start the long impending interest rate cut cycle.

According to commodity analysts, gold traders awaited the US CPI Inflation data due to be out this week. They have abstained from taking any fresh bets on the precious metal. Plus, gold prices are currently ruling at high levels. Those who look to pile up reserves of the yellow metal they are waiting for some price correction.
