New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) 2024 is the first kind of initiative franchise competition set to take place at the regional level in the Indian domestic circuit. Having taken a cue from the decade-long alluring Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), the UPKL aims to focus on local talent and strengthen the game across the nation with ample of opportunities for the emerging stars.

The UPKL 2024 is the first edition of the tournament scheduled from July 11 to July 25 with eight teams set to participate. Yamuna Yoddhas and Lucknow Lions will participate in the first match of UPKL 2024 at the Noida Indoor Stadium. Noida Ninjas, Kashi Kings, Brij Stars, Awadh Ramdoot, Sangam Challengers, and Ganga King of Mirzapur are the other six participating teams in the inaugural competition.

A host of star PKL players will also feature in the UPKL 2024. The likes of Arjun Deshwal (Lucknow Lions), Mohit Baliyan (Ganga Kings of Mirzapur), and Manjeet (Awadh Ramdoot) will make their presence felt for the kabbadi aficionados. Former Jaipur Pink Panthers all-rounder Rahul Chaudhari is the brand ambassador of the league.
