New Delhi: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, for Muharram, according to the official calendars of the 2 index operators. Trading across all segments, including equity, derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB), will be suspended for the day. Additionally, there will be no trading in the currency and interest rate derivatives segments.
The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will also cease trading on Wednesday during the morning session in observance of Muharram. However, the exchange will resume trading at 5 pm until 11:30/11:55 pm. There are no other stock market holidays in July 2024. The next market holiday falls on August 15, 2024, on the occasion of Independence day.
The BSE and NSE will not be open for trading in the following sections:

When will trading be available on NSE and BSE next?
The Indian stock market will resume normal trading on Thursday, July 18 at 9:15 AM, with trading occurring every day of the week except Saturdays, Sundays, and Exchange-declared holidays. The market timings for the equities segment are as follows:
Pre-open session:
Order entry and modification open at 09:00 am and close at 09:08 am, with random closure in the final minute.
Pre-open order matching begins immediately after the close of this session.
Regular trading session
During the regular trading session, the Normal/Limited Physical Market opens at 09:15 am and closes at 03:30 pm.
Closing Session
The Closing Session takes place from 03:40 pm to 04:00 pm.
Block Deal Session Timings
The Block Deal Session includes a Morning Window from 08:45 am to 09:00 am and an Afternoon Window from 02:05 PM to 02:20 am.
