New Delhi: India’s rising young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal jumped up four places to sixth even as dependable middle order batter Suryakumar Yadav maintained his second spot in the International Cricket Council’s T20I batting rankings released on Wednesday.
Left handed Jaiswal scored 141 runs in India’s 4-1 T20I series victory over Zimbabwe and moved up four places in the rankings list topped by Australia dasher Travis Head.
Ruturaj Gaikad dropped a spot to eighth as Shubman Gill, who skippered India against Zimbabwe took a leap of 36 spots to 37th after being the top scorer in the series with 170 runs in five innings.
Among the T20I bowlers, no Indian is inside the top 10 of the rankings as Axar Patel slid four spots to 13th after being rested for the Zimbabwe series.
However, pacer Mukesh Kumar and spinner Washington Sundar improved their positions. Kumar claimed eight wickets from three games against Zimbabwe, gaining 36 places to be at the 46th spot.

Sndar too picked up eight wickets, in five matches, which helped him rise 21 spots to 73rd.
Veteran England all-rounder Adil Rashid leads bowling chart, followed by South Africa quick Anrich Nortje and spinner Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka.
In the all-rounders’ chart, Team India’s Hardik Pandya went down four places to be at sixth while Patel dropped a rung to 13th.
Sundar rose by eight slots to be 41st while Shivam Dube took a leap of 35 places to be 43rd.
Hasaranga continued to lead the all-rounders’ list ahead of Australia’s Marcus Stoinis and Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza.
