Illegal sand mining case: ED attaches properties of Tamil Nadu Minister K Ponmudy and his son

Chennai: Enforcement Directorate provisionally attached properties worth Rs 14.21 crore in the case of Illegal Red Earth Mining by family members and associates of Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy, and his son and former MP P Gautham Sigamani – ED shared on its official X account.

It is to be noted that the DMK minister is already in legal tangle as the Madras High Court had taken up a suo motu revision against the acquittal of Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy in a disproportionate assets case by Villupuram district court in August 2023.
