New Delhi: Ryan Sessegnon comes back to Fulham on a free transfer after five years of leaving the club. The Fulham academy graduate has signed a two-year-old deal with the Cottager, with an option to extend his tenure for one year after his departure from Tottenham Spurs.
In his first stint with the club, the left midfielder scored 25 times and made 18 assists from his 120 appearances across all competitions. Sessegon made his debut at the age of 16 in a League Cup tie against Leyton Orient. His performance soon got him the reputation of being the future talent of England.

In 2019, Sessegnon moved to Spurs with a £ 25 million deal. He was never able to make a place with recurring hamstring injuries himself in North London and scored thrice from his 57 appearances across competitions. His tenure at Tottenham, though, helped him gain experience as a loanee to German club Hoffenheim in the 2020-21 season. It was crucial in developing skills and resilience for his eventual return to English football.
Speaking to the media, Sessegnon mentioned how “emotional” it was to make a comeback to the club where he had started from. He will be Fulham’s first signing of the transfer. They have already seen many of their first-team exit, including Joao Palhinha, Tosin Adarabioyo and Bobby De Cordova-Reid.
The Fulham manager Marco Silva will use his resources well and integrate Sessegnon on his return to the squad and hopefully use the 24-year-old’s pace, creativity, and goal-scoring ability to be an advantage for the club. On the left side, Sessegnon can play in multiple roles and will give the team the required variety. Also, Sessegnon is familiar with the club and the principles of its functions, which will make him an asset at Fulham as they try to make their position in the Premier League more consistent.
Fulham are reportedly looking to pull off a triple swoop of £60 million. The West London outfit have done well under Silva. Since their promotion from the Championship, they have recorded 10th and 13th place finishes in spite of losing key players Aleksander Mitrovic and Frank Anguissa in recent years.
Silva’s latest challenge will be Palhinha’s departure to Bayern Munich as he begins to prepare for the upcoming season. However, the defensive midfielder’s departure means that there is a lot of money to play with. If reports are to be believed, Fulham are looking to move for Andre Trinande, and the deal is near completion. The midfielder has been considered on numerous occasions as Palhina’s future with the club remained uncertain over the last year.
Ryan Sessegnon will return to Fulham on a two-year deal with an option of one year extension. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
