Thiago Motta casts out eight of the current Juventus first team players for next season

New Delhi: Eight first-team players of Juventus are rumored to have received a word that they are no longer wanted by the organization. The Italian powerhouses finished third in Serie A the previous season, some 23 points behind Inter, the eventual league leaders. Massimiliano Allegri was replaced as manager by Thiago Motta, and the Italian coach appears to be making quick work of it.

Thiago Motta had a wonderful 2023/24 campaign with the underdogs, Bologna. He managed to lead the side to a fourth place finish, securing the Champions league spot for the very first time in their history. The Italian coach had an excellent impact on each of the Bologna players who played some good football throughout the Serie A campaign. Motta played an important role in the development of Bologna squad’s key players, Joshua Zirkzee, Riccardo Calfiori and Lewis Ferguson.

Motta and his group have informed eight players in his squad that they are free to leave Turin this summer, according to trade expert Fabrizio Romano. The most well-known player is Federico Chiesa, who has previously been connected to a transfer to the Premier League and some other Italian sides. The other seven names on the list include the Polish Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, club veteran Daniele Rugani, the US international Weston McKennie, Filip Kostic, Mattia De Sciglio, Arthur Melo, and Hans Nicolussi-Caviglia.

This is a massive step taken by Thiago Motta who is now determined to bring Juventus back to the top. The Old Lady haven’t quite had their say in the last few campaigns, as they went from dominating the Italian league, winning nine consecutive titles from 2011/12 to 2019/20 campaign, to barely qualifying for European competitions. However, this might just be the year that the Black and White assert their dominance yet again as their new manager Motta has big plans ahead.

With the departure of certain first team players from the ‘Max Allegri era’, Motta has also recruited some top class footballers including the likes of Khephren Thuram, Douglas Luiz and Michele Di Gregorio who will be looking to perform under the Italian veteran. The aim is clear, to get Juventus back to the top and meet the standard of the team that has been built over the last few decades. It will be interesting to see how Motta does at Juventus and where would these departing players land after all.

The new Juventus coach Thiago Motta takes a big decision as some of the current first team players, including the likes of of Federico Chiesa and Wojciech Szczesny have already been asked to leave the Juve squad.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
