The protests in Bangladesh suddenly turned into a celebration after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country; following her exit, the Army announced a takeover and that an interim government will be formed.

Fresh videos from the past night have surfaced in which clashes between the Bangladesh Army and the protestors can be clearly seen.

Protestors Attack and Vandalise Bangladesh Parliament

Mobs on Monday stormed the Bangladesh Parliament, causing widespread chaos. Protesters invaded the building, engaging in disruptive behaviour and vandalism.

Some were seen sitting on tables, smoking, and taking selfies, illustrating the gravity of the situation. Social media was flooded with videos showing the pandemonium, including individuals stealing rugs, and utensils, and rifling through office files.

Sarees, Food and Paintings Among Items Stolen from Sheikh Hasina’s Residence

Hasina’s official residence in Dhaka was overrun by protesters. Footage revealed scenes of disorder as crowds entered the palace, celebrating and waving at cameras while looting.

Stolen items included sarees, tea cups, TV sets, and paintings, furniture and even fish from the kitchens.

What started as a students protest against the quota in government jobs, turned into absolute chaos in the past days; over 300 lives were lost, public properties were damaged and it also led to the fall of the government with Sheikh Hasina fleeing the country with her sister.
