Dhaka Court Grants Bail To Over 1000 BNP Jamaat Activists, Leaders

Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted bail to over 1,000 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami who were arrested in a sabotage case centering on the Quota Reform Movement. Among those who were granted bail included BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the case of sabotage in the name of the Quota Reform Movement. The court ordered the bail after the bail application was filed before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

Earlier in the morning, a petition was filed with the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The metropolitan magistrate ordered the bail after hearing the case.

BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Miah Golam Mia Golam Porwar were among the others.

Among those who were made accused in the case were BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Special Assistant to BNP Chairperson Shamsur Rahman alias Shimul Biswas, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Convener Saiful Alam Nirob, South Convener Rafiqul Islam Majnu, 12-Party Alliance Coordinator Advocate Syed Ehsanul Huda, BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku, Dhaka Metropolitan North Member Secretary Aminul Haque, Bagerhat district BNP Convener MA Salam and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie.
