‘Too Busy Serving Himself’: Tim Walz Attacks Trump in His First Rally as VP Pick in Philadelphia

Washington: Democratic Vice Presidential pick Tim Walz launched a scathing sharp attack at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump saying that he will take the United States “backwards,” and is “too busy serving himself.”

The comments by Walz were made during a rally in Philadelphia after Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris announced her choice by introducing him as her running mate as “a fighter for the middle class, a patriot.”

The 60-year-old running mate billed as someone who might win back rural and working-class voters who have gravitated to Trump during the Tuesday rally, “He doesn’t know the first thing about service – because he’s too busy serving himself.”

As the cheers continued from the raucous crowd, the former army sergeant football coach said that Trump “sees the world differently.” He further also invoked a viral attack line that caught the eye of Harris’s campaign.

“These guys are creepy and, yes, just weird as hell.”

Furthermore, the Minnesota Governor asserted that he “can’t wait to debate” Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance, “that is, if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.”

Walz’s selection is seen as a win for the party’s left-wing donors, who backed him strongly. A memo titled “The Case for Governor Tim Walz for Vice President” circulated among progressive supporters, underlining his alignment with their priorities.

While he began his career more moderately, Walz’s governorship has showcased a strong liberal stance, with support for an assault weapons ban and other progressive policies.
