Olympics Javelin Throw Match LIVE: Neeraj Chopra will be in action today in the men’s Javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics 2024 and will be aiming to defend his crown. Neeraj’s brilliant throw of 89.34m in the qualification round made a big statement but a tough challenge awaits defending champion as he seeks to create history in the Paris Olympics men’s javelin throw final round on Thursday.
Neeraj won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 but the challenge will be tough this time as twelve throwers crossed the automatic final round qualification mark of 84m.
The defending champion has a chance to become only the fifth man in Olympic javelin throw history to defend the title. If Neeraj wins the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, he will become the most decorated Indian in the Olympics in individual sport.
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem breached the 90m mark at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, also qualified for the javelin throw final with his season-best throw of 86.59 m.
