New Delhi: Serghei Spivac submitted Marcin Tybura in the first round by securing an important bout and took his revenge for his first loss against Tybura. Spivac was dominated from the very first minute of the fight as he landed a clean shot at Tybura in the first exchange and closed the distance between him and then went for some grappling. Spivac was successful in getting the knockdown and changed his position quickly and locked him in an armbar.
Tybura was trying to escape from the clinch but didn’t last and tapped out in the first round itself. Spivac only lost to UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall and no. 2 ranked Ciryl Gane and now will be one of the contenders for the Heavyweight title shot.
In the co-main event, Chepe Mariscal defeated Damon Jackson in a one-sided affair bout by unanimous decision. In the first round, Mariscal was in all-out attacking mode from all different angles which gave him early advantages as some shots were landed properly. In the second half of the match, Mariscal took Jackson to the ground and gave some hard shots on him. It was pure dominance from Mariscal as he won the fight by unanimous decision (30-25,30-25,30-26).
Danny Brlow stretched his unbeaten run as he defeated Nikolay Veretennikov by split decision. It was a close contest as both fighters were in defense position and neither man threw some hard punches but Barlow came out late in the match and closed the distance which gave him an edge in the match and won the fight by a split decision (29-29,27-30,29-28).
