New Delhi: Chelsea could make a move to bring back forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese forward played half a season with Chelsea as a loan from the La Liga club. The reports of the transfer come after negotiations with striker Samu Omorodion failed.
Chelsea had agreed to a £34.5 fee last week, but the deal for Omorodion was called off at the last minute between the Blues and Atletico. The Blues were never fully on board with the deal for the 20-year-old, and Chelsea have been reportedly looking for other players, including Napoli striker Victor Osimhen along with Felix.
Felix had previously indicated his desire to move back to Chelsea and was even ready to take a salary cut to fit into the club’s setup. Chelsea will anticipate an initial fee of £40m, and the terms of the deal will also be favourable for the club.
🚨🔵 João Félix has already said yes to Chelsea return. His agent Jorge Mendes was informed yesterday.

When Atletico signed Felix back in 2019, he was the fifth most expensive transfer in the world and was quite successful in the setup. He spent time on loan with Chelsea in 2023 and scored four times from 20 appearances across all competitions. He was on loan to Barcelona again last season and made 44 appearances, scoring 10 times across all competitions.
It has been a busy transfer period for Chelsea, having made 10 signings so far. Their inclination to sign players below the age of 21 has cost them an estimated £185m, with their recent signing of Wolves Pedro Neto costing them £54m. Chelsea believes that the first-team squad will have 24 players, with a few players leaving on loan or permanently.
The signing of Felix would still leave room for Chelsea to sign a striker before the transfer window ends. The signing would also leave a little question mark on Raheem Sterling’s future with the club. The signing would also leave a little question mark on Raheem Sterling’s future with the club. It is being reported that Juventus are interested in understanding the conditions for Sterling’s move. The biggest obstacle for the English winger is his wage of £300,000 a week, though he would like to settle his future before the transfer window ends. On top of that if Felix re-signs and Sterling doesn’t move, Noni Madueke could be seen as an option open for transfer.
Chelsea are reportedly holding talks to bring back Felix to the club after a successful stint with the club in 2022-23 season. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
