New Delhi: Michael Chandler has been waiting for years for his next fight against Conor McGregor. But McGregor is not fully fit to make his comeback in the octagon. McGregor’s recent comeback was set to take place in UFC’s International Fight Week on June 29 in UFC 30, but just a few weeks before he pulled out from the fight due to his broken toe injury.
Now the fight between Chandler and McGregor has been postponed to the winter season and didn’t confirm the date of the fight and it’s now seen that Chandler is also running out of patience and will consider other options to make his return to the UFC octagon. According to some sources, the fight is set to headline in UFC 310 event in December but there is no confirmation from UFC or McGregor.
Chandler picked Max Holloway as his alternate option as he is one of the top ones in the UFC and is currently holding the UFC BMF Championship. Chandler never fought with Holloway but he thinks he can make magic with him in the octagon.
“Max (Holloway) is one of the top ones on that list when it comes to who I would love to share the Octagon with. Justin Gathje, the fight of the year 2021, that’s another one. Me and Max would make some bloody, violent magic inside an Octagon,” Chandler said.
McGregor continues to be seen outside the octagon as he became co-owner in the BKFC promotion and was presented in the BKFC major events in Sturgis, South Dakota. The 38-year-old also believes that he will make his return to Octagon but there is no confirmation about his return date.

Chandler also believed that the most realistic alternate fight would be against Charles Oliviera as he fought with him for the UFC Lightweight Title but Chandler lost to Oliviera in the match and wanted a rematch against Oliviera. Oliveria is now also in a strange position as he was defeated by Arman TsaruKyan in his last fight and now every lightweight fighter is busy with their storylines it will be difficult for Oliviera to find any opponent anytime soon.
