Big boost for Make in India! BEML shares plans for Vande Bharat train set exports

New Delhi: PSU giant BEML plans to manufacture and export Vande Bharat chair and sleeper train sets abroad with an eye on markets in the Middle East, South America and the ASEAN region. As part of the Make in India initiative, BEML will make the rollout of the Vande Bharat train its priority,

The PSU company reorganised its business into 10 units headed by a CEO each. These include:

Mining and construction
Defence
Rail and metro

BEML’s export plans

BEML plans to focus on exports, the ET reported, citing BEML MD Shantanu Roy. The company plans to expand earnings to 10 per cent of its revenues from 4 per cent at present, said Roy. BEML’s Q1 net loss was down to Rs 70 crore, indicating a 10 per cent earnings growth.
