New Delhi: Indian indices closed lower on Tuesday owing to global uncertainty around the Middle East crisis as well as in anticipation of the US CPI index. The Sensex closed 692.89 points lower at 78,956.03, while Nifty was down 208 points to 24,139. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Wednesday, August 14, 2024:
Alembic Pharmaceuticals: The company received the US FDA’s approval to market a generic product for curing deep vein thrombosis.
Apollo Hospitals: The company’s Q1 net profit rose 83 per cent to Rs 305 crore from Rs 167 crore in the year-ago period.
Hindustan Zinc: Mining conglomerate Vedanta said it plans to slash its stake in Hindustan Zinc by 2.60 per cent without sharing details of the date and floor price of the offer for sale.
Hero MotoCorp: The 2-wheeler maker reported a 47 per cent jump in Q1 net profit to Rs 1,032 crore from Rs 701 crore a year ago. The company sold 15.35 lakh motorcycle and scooter units in the June quarter compared to 13.53 lakh units in the year-ago period.
Muthoot Finance: The gold finance loan financier reported an 11 per cent jump in Q1 net profit to Rs 1,079 crore from Rs 975 crore in the year-ago period.
NBCC: The construction PSU reported state-owned NBCC Ltd on Tuesday reported a 38 per cent increase in Q1 net profit to Rs 107.19 crore from Rs 77.41 crore in the year-ago period.
Nykaa: The beauty e-tailers parent FSN E-Commerce Ventures, reported a 2X jump in Q1 net profit to Rs 13.64 crore from Rs 5.42 crore in the same period a year ago.
SJVN: The hydropower generation PSU reported a Q1 net profit of Rs 357.09 crore from Rs 271.75 crore in the year-ago period.
Tata Motors: The company said it started the rollout of locally-produced Range Rover Sport in the Indian market. This makes the entire Range Rover portfolio completely Made in India, the company said.
