New Delhi: In an era of slam-bang cricket, Team India is blessed to have two of the best power hitters in their ranks. When it comes to clean hitting, very few can match the ability of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav. The Indian duo are one of the best hitters in the world. Despite boasting different styles, both are equally destructive with the bat.
Interestingly though, the fortunes have smiled upon one of the two batters, the other has been rather unfortunate.
While Surya has established himself as India’s T20I captain, Sanju is yet to cement his spot despite making his debut in 2015.
The latest snub from Duleep Trophy adds to the misery of Samson, who couldn’t find a place in any of the four teams.
Snubbed from the ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour, Samson didn’t help himself in the T20I series and failed in both his outings scoring 0,0 in the second and third matches of the series.
While Surya took home the accolades by leading India to a 3-0 series sweep victory over the Islanders in his first assignment as India’s skipper, Samson was slammed for wasting yet another opportunity to impress at the international level.
Despite his recent failures, Samson remains one of the most talented batters on the Indian roster but converting his potential into performance remains his biggest hurdle.
