Google Doodle celebrates 78th Independence Day with India’s architectural beauty

Mumbai: Today, India celebrates its 78th Independence Day, marking the historic moment on August 15, 1947, when the nation gained freedom from nearly two centuries of British colonial rule. This day is a tribute to the countless freedom fighters and leaders whose perseverance and sacrifices led to the birth of a free and sovereign India.

Google is commemorating India’s 78th Independence Day with a special Doodle that highlights the country’s rich architectural heritage. This year’s Doodle not only honours the architectural splendour of India but also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and resilience that shaped the nation’s history.

The Doodle platform also shared a message celebrating the day: “Today’s Doodle, illustrated by Vrinda Zaveri, celebrates Independence Day in India! On this day in 1947, India gained its freedom from colonial rule.”
