New Delhi: Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was carrying not one, but three fractures while playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, revealed radio jockey RJ Mahavash, who is rumoured to be dating the cricketer. Mahavash shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, where she praised Punjab Kings for their impressive campaign in IPL 2025, and revealed that Chahal played the tournament with three fractures.
Punjab Kings enjoyed a memorable campaign this season as they reached their first final in 11 years under Shreyas Iyer’s excellent leadership. PBKS lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 6 runs in a thrilling final to miss out on their maiden title. Nonetheless, Iyer & Co. won hearts with their impressive show throughout the tournament.
Chahal, who was one of the star performers for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, finished with 16 wickets in 13 matches. He missed a couple of matches towards the end of the season due to an injury, but made a comeback in Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians and also featured in the final against RCB.
Mahavash, who was spotted with the Punjab Kings camp on several occasions during the season, revealed Chahal fractured his rib after Punjab Kings’ 2nd match of the season and later fractured his bowling finger, but continued playing through injuries.
“They fought, stayed and played till the last match! And special post to @yuzi_chahal23 because what people don’t know is that his ribs got fractured in the second match only and his bowling finger got fractured later, this guy played the entire season with 3 fractures,” RJ Mahavash wrote on Instagram.
“We all have seen him screaming and crying in pain but have never seen him giving up! I mean what warrior spirit you have man. The team kept fighting till the last ball! It was nothing but an honour to be a supporter of this team this year! Well played boys,” she added, highlighting Chahal’s fighting spirt and commitment towards the game.
Punjab Kings fumble on big stage
Punjab Kings played some exceptional cricket throughout the league stage of IPL 2025 to finish on top of the table and make it to the playoffs. They lost in Qualifier 1 against RCB, before bouncing back to beat Mumbai Indians in the 2nd Qualifier. PBKS were looking like genuine contenders for the title heading into the final against RCB.
However, they ended up fumbling on the big stage to suffer a crushing 6-run defeat in the final as RCB ended their 18-year-long drought for their maiden IPL title.
