New Delhi: Former India captain MS Dhoni was recently spotted giving his autograph on a fan’s motorbike in his hometown Ranchi. Dhoni, whose love for bikes is no secret, is the owner of an exquisite collection of some of the best bikes in the world. The India legend also has some vintage motorcycles in his collection and often likes to take one of them out on a stroll on the streets of Ranchi once in a while.
Dhoni is currently on a break from cricket and enjoying his time at his home in Ranchi. The former India captain likes to remain away from the limelight but his public videos often keep surfacing on social media, thanks to his immense fan following. A video of Dhoni has now gone viral where he can be seen giving a fan his autograph on his bike.
While he remains away from the spotlight, Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to be a matter of intense debate among fans. Many believe Dhoni should continue playing for another season despite having turned 42 while others feel it might be time for the former CSK skipper to hang up his boots and quit all forms of the game.
Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020 but continues to remain a vital cog for CSK in the IPL. The veteran wicket-keeper batter was expected to retire from IPL following the conclusion of the 2024 season earlier this year. However, Dhoni, who stepped down from captaincy ahead of the start of IPL 2024 and handed over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad, is yet to confirm his future.
CSK likely to retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player
Chennai Super Kings are reportedly set to retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction to keep him with the team without taking a big hit on their total purse. BCCI is likely to bring back the uncapped player rule which allows a player who has been retired for 5 years to be retained as an uncapped player.
The rule if reinstated will help CSK keep hold of their former captain while paying him a lower retention fee which will be equivalent to an uncapped player. Earlier, opening up on his future Dhoni had said he will take a final call on whether to continue playing or not after the BCCI finalised the IPL retention rules for the mega auction.
