New Delhi: Former India captain MS Dhoni is enjoying his break at his home in Ranchi. The legendary wicket-keeper batter was recently spotted enjoying a meal with some of his close friends in what appeared like a Dhaba in his hometown. The picture has gone viral on social media, once again highlighting Dhoni’s grounded nature.
Dhoni is known for his simple way of life and likes to stay away from the limelight when not on the field. He is always available for his close friends at home and rarely disappoints his fans, who often come to him seeking pictures or autographs. Recently a video of Dhoni had gone viral of the former India captain making a fan’s day by signing his autograph on his bike.
A picture of Dhoni is now doing the round on social media where he can be seen sitting with a close group of friends at a Dhaba, enjoying a meal together.

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, continues to play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, speculations are rife about the legend’s future in the IPL ahead of the mega auction. Dhoni was expected to call time on his IPL career after the 2024 edition of the tournament earlier this year.
Dhoni stepped down from captaincy ahead of the start of IPL 2024 and handed over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad. With the final scheduled in Chennai, the stage was set for a fairytale farewell for the former CSK skipper. However, CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs and Dhoni is yet to address speculations regarding his future.
MS Dhoni can be retained as an uncapped player
As per reports, Chennai Super Kings might retain Dhoni as an uncapped player if BCCI reinstates the uncapped player rule which was scrapped in 2021. As per the rule, any player who has been retired for 5 years can be retained as an uncapped player by a franchise. Dhoni will be completing 5 years of retirement next year and might get retained as an uncapped player for the IPL 2025 mega auction.
