Chelsea’s sister club RC Strasbourg announce Patrick Vieria’s successor

Chelsea’s sister club RC Strasbourg announce Patrick Vieria’s successor

New Delhi: Todd Boehly’s BlueCo consortium is preparing for new changes at both their clubs, Chelsea and RC Strasbourg. Both teams appointed a manager last season who left at the end of the 2023/24 season, Mauricio Pochettino for Chelsea and Patrick Vieira for Strasbourg. Their successors were appointed shortly after their departure was announced as Enzo Maresca joined Chelsea within two weeks of Pochettino’s departure while Strasbourg announced Liam Rosenior as their new manager, a week after the Frenchman departed.

Rosenior was last seen managing Hull City in the Championship and led the Tigers to a 10th-place finish in England’s second division but was sacked at the end of the season as they fell short of the promotion places. The young manager expressed his excitement about joining the club, saying on the club website, I am happy to join Racing, a historic French club, with supporters renowned for their passion and loyalty.”

The 40-year-old joins the club which finished 13th in the league last season and has his work cut out in front of him. The club is also impressed with the manager with club president, Marc Keller saying that he’s pleased to get a young coach who is known for his ability to make his teams play well and helps in the development of the players. It is interesting to note that these were the two qualities that Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali were looking for in their hunt for Chelsea’s new manager as well.

Two of the biggest reasons for Maresca’s appointment were that he’s good at developing players and making them play an attractive brand of football. It looks like the management wants to implement the same philosophy across both their clubs. Another similarity between the two appointments is the age of the managers as both Maresca and Rosenior are in their early 40s, making them extremely young for a manager and one of the criteria that BlueCo had for Pochettino’s replacement was that they were looking to bring in a young manager.

This is the second major job for both Maresca and Rosenior at the managerial level and it looks to be an unpredictable yet exciting season for both new managers ahead.

The BlueCo-owned club have acted swiftly in appointing Patrick Vieira’s replacement after his departure. The Frenchman departed after only one season in charge.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
