New Delhi: Team India power hitters Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson are known for their friendship on and off the field. The duo has played pivotal roles for the Men in Blue over the years, establishing their prowess with their significant contributions for the Indian team.
While Samson been witnessed mentioning Suryakumar during his conversations, the T20 specialist has reciprocated with some heartfelt gestures in return. During an ODI match against the West Indies at Kensington Oval in 2023, something of similar sort was witnessed which won a million hearts. Suryakumar ruled all over the social media after he donned Samson’s jersey during the game.
Suryakumar takes stand for Samson’s exclusion
In the series opener against the Windies, wicketkeeper-batter Samson was not part of the playing XI despite featuring in the squad. While the decision of not playing Samson in the game was being heavily criticised, Suryakumar kept his teammates presence alive by wearing his jersey. It was not clear why Suryakumar wore Samson’s jersey but some suggested that he did it as he wanted to take a stand after the Rajasthan Royals captain did not get picked.
Suryakumar’s initiative to take stand for Samson was very great as Sanju is not getting proper chances in Indian team and his heartfelt gesture was recognised and appreciated by the fans of Samson.

Meanwhile, Team India’s next assignments will start on September 19 when they host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series followed by three T20I games. After the commencement of the series, India will host New Zealand at home in October.
