For 2024, the entire expenditure has been £1.6 billion, which is much less than 2023’s £3.1 billion, though the gap will obviously shorten as the deals happen until Friday.

The decrease has been seeen as a direct result of complying with the profit and sustainability rules. Most of the business conducted by the teams happened between 14th June to 30th June triggered by Premier League’s finanicial year end. Clubs cannot lose more than £105m in three-year timespan. All clubs are considering the values of the players for the amount that will be spent. This is why the market has been a little suppressed.
