New Delhi: After star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra bagged a silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up him on Friday to extend his congratulations. PM Modi congratulated the track and field athlete for his great achievement, which gave India their fifth medal at the Paris Games and the only silver.
PM Modi also praised the sportsman spirit shown by his mother after she called Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan her child. While speaking with media after her son’s achievements at Olympics, the javelin thrower’s mother also recognised the miraculous effort put in by Arshad, who pipped Neeraj for the elusive gold medal.
