New Delhi: A special guest referee will feature in the Championship match between Joe Hendry and Ethan Page. Hendry took the stage on tonight’s episode of NXT and held a concert where he performed a song that was meant to undermine Ethan.
Everything was going great for him and the crowd was also singing with him. Ethan tried to disrupt his performance by shutting things down but the audience got under his skin by singing the lyrics of Hendry’s song. Just when everyone thought that it couldn’t get much worse for Page, NXT GM Ava showed up on the stage and announced Trick Williams as a guest referee for the match between Hendry and Page at No Mercy.
After hearing the announcement, Ethan lost his cool and tried to take down Hendry. But he hit Page with a Standing Ovation before pinning him down while Williams kept the count.
Will Joe Hendry end Ethan Page’s championship reign at NXT No Mercy?
Ethan Page won the NXT Championship belt at NXT Heatwave. Williams took on Shawn Spears, Je’von Evans and Ethan Page in a four-way battle for his belt. Williams held his ring and hit both Evans and Page with a trickshot and the effect of his trickshot caused Page to fall on top of Je’Von which led to him winning the NXT Championship belt through pinfall.
Now, Williams will be the special guest referee for the match between Joe Hendry and Ethan Page. Hendry is loved by the fans and is capable of putting some great performances in the ring to electrify the crowd. It is going to be a tough test for Ethan Page at No Mercy.
Even if Page somehow able to overpower Hendry, he will still struggle to win the match unless referee Trick Williams lets him and if Hendry able to overcome Page, Williams will make it easy for him to get the three count and win via pinfall.
Hendry was taking on Wes Lee and Pete Dunne for a chance at Page’s belt. He was close to winning the match but Page interfered and held him back. Luckily, Williams was there to help Hendry.
