New Delhi: In a rare sight, India’s T20 specialist batter SuryaKumar Yadav was seen bowling in a match during the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament. On the third day of the game between Mumbai and TNCA XI, Suryakumar Yadav rolled his arms over as he tried bowling the last over before the day ended.

Suryakumar, who is considered one of the best batters in the shortest format of the game, bowled some genuine off-breaks which caught everyone’s attention. Out of his good deliveries, one of the ball, which was a high full toss, almost led to an unfortunate incident. TNCA XI batter Athish SR capitalised on the loose delivery and smashed it for a boundary, which forced the fielder placed a short-leg to duck for cover.
Although such small incidents take place every now and then in cricket but this one gained the headlines because Suryakumar Yadav acknowledged the dangerous delivery and raised his hand in apology.

Despite quality efforts from the Mumbai side, which included a fifer from Himanshu Singh, TNCA XI put up a strong batting performance and comfortably surpassed 350-run mark in their first innings. The bowlers, particularly R Sai Kishore, kept the pressure on Mumbai, who were bowled out for a modest 156.
Suryakumar Yadav keen for Test comeback
The flamboyant batter, who made his debut for India in Test cricket in February 2023 against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series in Nagpur, is keen to make a comeback to the longest format of the game. Recently, Suryakumar Yadav had expressed his desire to return to the Test arena for India. He has another opportunity to make a comeback for India as he has been named in the upcoming Duleep Trophy tournament. This event will play a vital role in his selection in the squad for the Bangladesh Test series next month.
