New Delhi: Team India wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson is currently off national duty as he is spending some leisure time with his family and close friends. He has been quite active on social media where he regularly shares his daily life. However, in one such post on Instagram, a funny comment thread was spotted which Samson too was a part of, responding to random social media users who seemed to be his fan and a follower.
The 29-year-old shared an Instagram post on Saturday which consisted of five pictures and a video of him along with his wife and a few of his friends. The post has been gaining a huge number of likes, having already breached the 3 lakh mark, and has generated over 1500 comments so far. It was one of those comments which Samson replied to and it was so funny that he even shared a snap of the comment thread with his reply on his Instagram story.
The post was kind of an August wrap of Samson in which he shared bits and pieces of his notable moments of the ending month. He captioned the post – “August done well. Get Set Go.” However, an account with username ‘jaynit26’ commented “Samsung respect button,” bemusing the other fans and even Samson himself. It seemed the account intended to write “Samson” but misspelled it with Samsung, which is a well-established electronics brand.
Because the two words rhyme with each other, many were left in splits after seeing the comment which itself has gained over 2000 likes. The fans corrected the user about Samson’s surname and not much later even Samson replied with three laughing emoticons. He shared the screenshot of the same thread on his Insta story with the same laughing emojis, which tells a lot about his calming nature and how admiring he is of his fans.
What is a ‘respect button’?
Not many cricketers engage with their fans in the comment section of their social media posts but a handful of cricketers like Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal are well known to have a say among the fans. The “respect button” comment is quite common on Instagram as fans of that particular celebrity ask the other fans to like their comment in order to show their respect towards him/her.
On the work front, Samson is not a part of the ongoing Buchi Babu Tournament and will be missing the upcoming Duleep Trophy as well. He is expected to be a part of Team India in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in October.
Sanju Samson is currently taking some time off the field and has been active on the social media. He recently shared a few funny comments on his latest Instagram post, something not many cricketers practice.
