Russian Strike in Central Ukraine Kills 41, Injures 180, Claims Zelenskyy

Kyiv: Two Russian ballistic missiles struck an educational facility and a nearby hospital in Ukraine’s Poltava region, killing at least 41 people and injuring 180 others, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

The attack, which occurred in a central area of the country, is believed to be one of the deadliest since the conflict began on February 24, 2022, over 900 days ago.

Zelenskyy shared the news in a video posted on his Telegram channel, revealing that one of the buildings at the Institute of Communications was partially destroyed, trapping people under the rubble. While many were rescued, the situation remains dire. 

Zelenskyy also mentioned that all necessary emergency services are engaged in the ongoing rescue operations and announced that a thorough investigation has been ordered to determine the specifics of the incident.
