New Delhi: Legendary WWE tag team The Undertaker and Kane formed the most lethal duo of their generation when they paired up as the Brothers of Destruction. Both have shared innumerable notable instances inside the ring where they have showcased their wrestling skills, handing clinical defeats to their opponent and probably wrapping up their careers. The Undertaker recently took a trip down memory lane for one such instance.
It was on April 12, 2001, at the SmackDown when the Undertaker and Kane took on former WWE stars The Big Show, Funaki, and Taka Michinoku. During the thrilling bout, The Deadman had instructed Kane to hit Funaki with a Last Ride but what led up to the moment is indeed funny and torturous. Kane attempted a Last Ride on his opponent but committed a blunder as he lifted him too high and sent him backward over his head.
In the latest episode of Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway, The Brother of Destruction was discussed in depth. The Undertaker in a light-hearted manner said that he was left with no choice at that moment but to hit Michinoku with an unplanned (off-script) Last Ride just to show Kane how to perform it correctly.
“When Kane took his guy (Funaki) and pulled him up, he went up over his head and went out the back door. Went right over the top of him. And it turned off the cuff into an ad-lib of me chastizing Kane for not being able to do the Last Ride, so it’s big brother telling little brother how to do this particular move, and it turned out to be a funny segment,” Sportskeeda Wrestling quoted The Undertaker as saying.
Kane took a second attempt and executed the Last Ride successfully on Funaki before pinning him to register a victory.

Half-brothers’ craze
Even the WWE fans who were in attendance for the match were left surprised as they saw Funaki jumping over the Big Red Machine, leading to a failed Last Ride. A few seconds afterward, the same fans erupted when The Undertaker performed a deadly Last Ride on Taka Michinoku. They gave a similar reaction when Kane took notes from his elder brother and hit the same move on Funaki. Hearing the crowd’s response was quite enjoyable for The Undertaker as revealed by him.
