‘Shaadi kar le Bhai’: Ex-Pakistan cricketer gives bizarre advice to Babar Azam

New Delhi: Pakistan cricket is going through its lowest phase in decades with a home Test series whitewash against putting the whole set-up in the country under the scanner. While the whole team and coaching staff are getting criticised, Babar Azam, the team’s talisman is facing severe backlash for his poor form.

Babar is in the middle of a wretched run, failing to touch the 50-run mark in his previous 17 innings. His bad form was cited as one of the main reasons for Pakistan’s dismal show against their less-fancied neighbours.

The Men in Green lost a Test and series for the first time against Bangladesh, losing both the Test matches in Rawalpindi.  A 0-2 Test series loss against the ‘Bangla Tigers’ on home soil is being labelled as Pakistan’s worst result in the longest format.

Since the humiliating defeat, Pakistani fans and former players expressed their disappointment and vented frustration on social media. Some also advised the players to improve their performances.

The latest to give advice was former batter Basit Ali, who made a bizarre claim and told Babar to get married.

Like an elder brother, I want him to tell him Shaadi kar le bhai, ab umar zyada ho gayi hai teri (Get married brother, you are now old enough),” Basit Ali said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Pakistan’s dismal run in Tests

After a disastrous ODI World Cup 2023 campaign in India, Pakistan embarked on a three-Test tour of Australia and suffered a 3-0 whitewash. Babar, among others, came under heavy scrutiny after a poor outing during which he could only muster 126 runs at an average of 21 in three Tests.

The 0-2 loss at home to Bangladesh means that Pakistan have now lost five Tests in a row and are without a victory in 10 Tests on home soil. The Asian side will next face England in a three-Test series at home in October. Babar Azam, the ace Pakistan batter, is in the middle of a wretched scoring run, failing to touch the 50-run mark in his previous 17 innings  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
