Fixed deposits are still popular with a large section of the population averse to taking risks. To compete with the rising popularity of mutual funds, banks have been offering higher interest in FDs of fixed tenures in recent times. All prominent banks are in this list.
Four such FDs that have been popular in the past months will come to a halt this month. The last chance of investing in these FDs is September 30, 2024. Let’s have a look at these.
SBI FD rates: Amrit Kalash, We Care
This FD was launched in February 2023. It was given a few extensions that indicates its popularity. It offered a rate of interest of 7.10% to non-senior citizens and 7.60% to senior citizens for deposits of 400 days. SBI We Care FDs will also come to an end on September 30, 2024. We Care FDs are available on fresh deposits and renewal of matured FDs. The interest rate offered is 7.50%.
On July 16, 2024 SBI has launched another special FD branded as Amrit Vrishti. It offers 7.25% per annum on deposits of 444 days. Both Amrit Kalash and Amrit Vrishti are applicable on retails deposits ie, deposits below Rs 3 crore.
Punjab & Sind Bank FD interest rates
Punjab & Sind Bank has three FDs of fixed tenure that are coming to an end on September 30. These are an FD of 222 days that offers an interest rate of 6.30%, one of 333 days that offers 7.15% and one of 444 days that carries 7.25%. These rates are for general customers, while those above 60 will get 50 basis points more. However, one has to invest a minimum of Rs 1 lakh in these.
IDBI Bank special FD rates
The last opportunity to invest in Indian Bank special Utsav FD is the last day of this month. The rates under Utsav FDs are 7.05% for general customers and 7.55 for those above 60 years. Utsav FDs come with fixed tenures of 300 days, 375 days, 444 days and 700 days.
Indian Bank special FD
September 30 is also the last day to invest in special FDs of Indian Bank. This bank now gives 7.05% interest rates to those below 60, 7.55% rate to those between 60 and 80 and a rate of 7.80% to those above 80 years. The tenure is 300 days (Ind Super). There is another fixed maturity period of 400 days and the interest rates are 7.25% for those below 60, 7.75% to those between 60 and 80 and 8.00% to those above 80.
