Gold Price in India today: Gold rates in Delhi, Mumbai & other cities

New Delhi: Gold prices jumped by Rs 600 to Rs 74,100 per 10 grams in Delhi on September 10, 2024 (Tuesday) as jewellers opted for fresh buying. According to the All India Sarafa Association, silver prices appreciated Rs 700 to Rs 84,500 per kilogram. It closed at a price of Rs 83,800 per kg in the previous session. The yellow metal of 99.9 per cent purity had ended at Rs 73,500 per 10 grams in the previous session.

Price of Gold of 99.5 per cent purity increased Rs 400 to Rs 73,750 per 10 grams. It had ended at Rs 73,350 per 10 grams in the previous session. Traders were of the view that gold prices were rising because of rise in domestic demand. Meanwhile, due to weak trend in world markets, the gains got capped. Comex gold trading lower at USD 2,532.10 per ounce in the overseas markets.

“Gold prices have held above USD 2,500-mark through the start of the European session on Tuesday as traders seemed reluctant to place directional bets ahead of the US Inflation reports due to be published in the days ahead,” Maneesh Sharma, AVP of Commodities & Currencies at Anand Rathi Shares and Stock Brokers, said.

The US Consumer Price Index and producer price index will be released on September 11 and 12 respectively.

Kaynat Chainwala, AVP-Commodity Research, Kotak Securities, said that the jobs data released by the US has given a hope for a rate cut.

“The underwhelming US jobs report bolstered the case for Fed easing, though uncertainty about the scale of interest rate cuts limited gold’s upside,” Chainwala said.

Traders are keenly awaiting speeches by FOMC members Michael S Barr and Michelle W Bowman.
