‘I’m my own worst enemy’: Former wrestler shared insights about his time with WWE

New Delhi: The former United States champion who was released from the WWE in September last year said that he was his own worst enemy during his time with the company.

Matt Riddle has always done things in his own way. In 2013 he was fired from UFC after testing positive for marijuana. After UFC he moved to pro wrestling and achieved success quickly. He joined WWE and rose to the main roster in 2020. Despite the success, he admitted that his behaviour often caused him problems during his time in WWE.

Matt Riddle was involved in a tag team with Randy Orton. They won the Tag Team Championship twice but their brilliant run ended after The Viper was sidelined with a long injury. He always portrayed a baby face on TV but had problems with backstage people.

‘I’m definitely my own worst enemy’: Matt Riddle

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Riddle said that it’s really hard to tell him about how to live his own life and how to do his things.

“I’m always going to be me. It’s really hard to tell me how to live my life or how I’m going to do things. I can be my worst enemy when you’re working for a billion-dollar corporation that wants to look cookie-cutter and get Disney and every other sponsor to book them”. Riddle said on Sports Illustrated.

He further said that he’s his own worst enemy. Riddle also said that he’s valuable as he doesn’t bend on certain things.

“Yeah, I’m definitely my own worst enemy in that sense. But I think in that sense, I’m as valuable as I am because I don’t bend on certain things, and I think that’s what makes me unique. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m my own worst enemy. But I’m just me. Trust me, there’s a long time where I wasn’t me and I would go through the motions” he added.

Riddle also said that chances of his return to WWE are extremely high “I know I wasn’t the easiest to work with at times. I think the door is always open” Riddle said.

The former wrestler had several controversies during his time with WWE and had many heated exchanges with other wrestlers.  WWE Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
