New Delhi: Premier League club Manchester City have launched their latest kit, which is inspired by the cover art of the Oasis debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’, released 30 years ago. Oasis guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher co-designed the new kit and is a self-professed fan of the Man City team,
Talking about the whole experience, Gallagher commented on his delight and the honour to be designing the team jersey of a team he has been supporting for “50 years”. The “Don’t look back in anger” hitmaker confessed that it took him “five seconds” to agree to the proposal.
The 57-year-old announced last month of ending his feud of 15 years with his brother and bandmate Liam Gallagher and are now reuniting to perform a sell-out tour in 2025. It has been announced that the Definitely City kit will be worn exclusively in some selected European fixtures.

Commenting on the kit, Gallagher has said that he felt it was unique and definitely striking. Man City, over the last four years, have absolutely ruled the English Premier League and are now defending their fourth back-to-back trophy this season. They have started the campaign well with three wins in their first three games. They were ruthless throughout those three games, with a 2-0 win over Chelsea, a 4-1 win over Ipswich Town and a 3-1 win over West Ham.
The kit has been released with promotional photos of the players of the men’s and women’s teams and manager Pep Guardiola holding a Gibson J-185. They were spotted recreating the album cover with ‘Definitely City’ written in place of the album name. The original photo was taken in band member Paul Arthur’s room and feature former Manchester United star George best and City’s Rodney Marsh. The recreated photo features City legends Sergio Aguero and Colin Bell.
‘Definitely Maybe’ was an album that brought stardom to Oasis and saw them record seven studio albums in total. Since the breakup, all of the band members have pursued their solo careers, with Noel Gallagher forming Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, whose concerts have featured Oasis tunes. In recent years, Gallagher has guest toured with several bands, including a one-off appearance with U2 in Mumbai back in 2019.
