New Delhi: The Men in Blue got off to a poor start on the first day of the opening Test match in Chennai. The Indian batters were troubled by some sensational bowling from Bangladesh. Team India was playing a Test match after a long gap and Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul struggled to score runs against Bangladesh’s fast bowlers and got out cheaply.
Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud dismissed Rohit on the first ball of the sixth over and also removed Shubman Gill on a duck. He also got the wicket of Virat Kohli on six runs and took his third wicket of the match. After the failure of star batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Pant stitched a crucial 62-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Jaiswal tackled the Bangladeshi bowlers brilliantly and scored 56 runs off 118 balls with the help of nine boundaries.
